Join Oklahoma Christian as we host an event that will tell the Story of Tar Creek Superfund site. Once one of the largest lead and zinc mines on Earth, Tar Creek is now home to over 40 square miles of environmental devastation in northeastern Oklahoma. America's Superfund sites aren't just environmental wastelands; they're community tragedies, too. Until the community fights back. This event will be held in Judd Theatre on the campus of Oklahoma Christian University and will include a brief welcome, a showing of the Tar Creek Documentary, and will conclude with a panel discussion.
Order of Events:
4:00pm-4:05pm - Welcome
4:05pm-5:00pm - Showing of the Tar Creek Documentary
5:00pm - 5:45pm - Panel Disscussion
Panel:
Summer King (Environmental Scientist, Quapaw Nation)
Guy Sewell (Professor Emeritus, Environmental Science)
Bob Nairn (Professor, OU Center for Restoration of Ecosystems and Watersheds (CREW))
